Hi, I’m Tom from Slakin Kraken Crafts.

I make handmade leather goods from my workshop, creating things that are practical, hard-wearing and made to be used.

Everything is made by hand, from cutting and stitching through to the finishing touches. I enjoy taking a piece of leather and turning it into something useful, whether that’s a notebook, keyring, bracelet or something completely made to order.

So, where does the pirate theme come from?

I’ve always had a bit of a love for the freedom and adventure that comes with the old pirate stories. The idea of setting off somewhere new, making your own way and not being afraid to try something different has always appealed to me. There’s also something about the old world of ships, maps, leather, rope and handmade gear that fits perfectly with what I enjoy making.

That’s where Slakin Kraken Craft came from. It gives me a chance to bring a little bit of that adventure into the things I make, without taking it all too seriously.

I make pieces that are meant to be used, whether you’re heading off on an adventure or just heading out for the day. I also take on commissions, so if you have an idea for something you’d like made, get in touch and we can see what we can come up with.
